WALT - write a persuasion to convince my audience to save the kakapo


Hi my name is Korowai and I'd like to tell you why we should all protect the kakapo. Have you ever seen a kakapo before? They are endangered and on the way to extinction. We need to protect the kakapo and we should help them so they won’t become extinct.


The kakapo live under the Ground in a barrow. This bird is actually a native bird and it is the only flightless parrot in the world.


We should protect the kakapo because there is a lot of Predators which are Stokes, rats and weasels. The kakapo is nice to it's predators, so how would they ever live. but this is the reason why we should protect them, they show good behaviours to the weasels and Stokes and rats and that's how they die easily and their population isn’t as much any more. but do you no that the kakapo is nocturnal up in the night a sleep in the day .

The kakapo diet is very special. They eat special muesli Berry fruit nuts seeds leaves grass roots and moss. I think they have a pretty healthy diet. I should try it myself.

Have I convinced you to save the kakapo and not let them go extinct.? I hope so.
